Description: La forêt de proximité (FP) est une unité territoriale de référence du domaine de l'État en vertu de l'article 13 de la Loi sur l'aménagement durable du territoire forestier (LADTF). La gestion forestière de ce territoire est déléguée, généralement à un organisme municipal ou à une communauté autochtone, en vue de favoriser leur développement économique. La forêt de proximité permet aux organismes délégataires : - de tirer des bénéfices socioéconomiques à partir de la ressource forestière; - d’obtenir des responsabilités et un pouvoir de décision liés à la gestion et à la mise en valeur des ressources forestières; - de développer ou de consolider une expertise liée à la gestion des ressources forestières. Plus précisément, les responsabilités déléguées concernent la planification de l’aménagement forestier intégré, la réalisation et le suivi des interventions forestières, la mise en marché des bois récoltés ainsi que la délivrance de certains permis d’intervention.
