Seules les aires protégées soumises à des interdictions de récolte sont représentées dans ce produit. Le MRNF est responsable de la désignation légale des refuges biologiques, des écosystèmes forestiers exceptionnels et les milieux humides d'intérêt. Ces aires protégées prennent leur source dans le système STF. Les refuges biologiques du régime forestier adapté (RFA) ont été identifiés conformément à l'article 3.13 du chapitre 3 de La Paix des braves et ceux-ci sont également sous la responsabilité du MRNF.
